Sure, you can have the Twatster for £1400.

er.
Price? Steel or alu?
There are plenty of ss or fixed road racers in london, probably also in islington. Specificity is required.

Then you're looking for a road bike conversion and I'm out of the game.. (hmm.. Mal's bike go bye bye ;))

ok... I think you're going to find it exceptionally difficult to get a fixed wheel bike for that price. My advice - hunt down an old racer on ebay then take the derrailleur/gear mech off. instant single-speed. I found an old raleigh 10-speed on ebay for £70 for this purpose. That way, you could probably also afford to get a decent back wheel with a track hub if you then decide you want to go fixed.

i;ve seen fixed/ss bikes go for less than £200 on ebay. that said, they've not blown my mind away re components etc.. I'd day conversion is the way to go. Bought a 80s peugeot racer for £50 off ebay and turned it in to my knock around bike.
frame size does depend on other factors like how long your legs are but generally i'd say anything from a 51cm to a 54/55cm.
