It' s probably between the Paddy Wagon (bettter wheels) and Fillmore (better frame) - not much in it though.
Not sure what size you are after but there is one in London on ebay came on yesterday - I emailed the seller and he is happy to do a deal ouside ebay - his is a 53 c-c.

i'm 6 foot 4 so the 61 cm frame they do is what attracted me in the first place. is it possible to get a custom build for that kind of money?

Another possibility - Pearson Touche? Smidgen over budget @ £550 though.
Nice.

If you are 6'4" I would build your own up - plenty of lovely big frames ready for conversion on eBay that won't be so fought over (£££) by us (more common) shorter types.
You can easily put together a lovely bike with mostly classic NOS parts and a new set of wheels for less than a Fillmore.

Didn;t know about the bike so googled 'fillmore bike' and the first search result came up with this on gumtree http://www.gumtree.com/london/67/18520867.html for £370. it was posted on 15th so don;t know if it's still available (i know i managed to sell a bike on there last week super quick) but if it is you could try haggling the guy down and then use the money you saved upgrading the bb and crank.

Yep, that's the same one on ebay that I posted about above. If you get a 10% LCC discount they are only £405 new so beat him down....

With the saddle that low he's also got the wrong size. I recon a fair price is 320-350.
hello,
as a mountain bike rider about to get his first single speed, i wanna make sure i get a decent one but can't spend much more than £450ish. I was recommended the fillmore as the best for the cash but have since been told the cranks and bottom bracket are a bit rubbish. Does anyone know any more about this? And can anyone explain the limitations of the cro moly frame?
cheers
