talking of stats, i was reading a few months back, that london cyclists are 5x more likely than pedestrians to die.

That's coz London's full of skinny fsckers like you.. if it was me vs. ped I reckon "they're 5x more likely to be flatter than they were before impact" :)

Not quite.
100% of peds and 100% of cyclists will die.
Fact.

You have to be very careful with those particular stats.
It depends entirely on whether the figures are based on a per-journey or per kilometre assessment.
ie the cyclist may cycle 5k to work where the ped walks only 1k.
Anyone else find it strangely coincidental that a Tory Baroness was nearly hit by a cyclist (the date isn't specified, but I'll guess that it was maybe a week ago, for argument's sake) and then, almost immediately afterwards, the City Of London Police spend a day ticketing cyclists?
I'd also like to ask if Baroness Sharples has any independent witnesses to this alleged incident? Perhaps there is some CCTV footage of the altercation that could prove conclusively that the cyclist did, indeed, cross a red light and that this isn't merely the ramblings of a mad old hag that seems the type to stab your football with a screwdriver if it accidentally ends up in her garden?
Surely, there's no chance that she tried to dart into the road as the lights changed from red to green and was almost hit by a cyclist as he began to pull away?
