Yep, I've seen that loads in the museum where I work. Did a lot back home as well in hmv, and I've heard parents tell their children to 'shut the fuck up' before. :-/

My girlfriend was riding to work today, mother casually pushed her pram out in to the road not really looking where she was going, my girl only just managed to avoid crashing into the pram and therefore her kid inside. After pointing out that the woman might like to look where she's going, especially when she is using her kid as a way to stop traffic, she was told to shut her stupid fucking face over and over again until she gave up trying to teach on old dog new tricks and rode off. Some people should be sterilised.

about the forst post:
parenting is bleeding hard. I won't judge other parents at the first impression, though that does sound bleedin werid. -

I saw a horrendous example of the same a few years ago when I used to commute from Brighton to London.
A late 20s early 30s couple just before Christmas, with their little baby boy with them. Travelling in on an early morning (7ish train)
The father ignoring the screaming child because he was reading his newspaper. The mother listening to headphones plugged into a portable DVD player. The mother actually removed one of the headphones and asked her partner how to turn the volume up becuase she couldn't hear the film over their child.
I was seething with hate.

I remember sitting in a cafe waiting for someone one day and seeing a father with headphones in on iPod ignoring his 3 yr old son in front of him.
Shocking. What a cunt!

Saw something similar the other night. 3 kids (obviously heading to footbal practice) shouting back to dad who was wearing hoodie and Ipod and watching his toes as he sloched along. Kids telling dad that he was gonna get run over by a cyclist (me). I gave dad a wide berth in the end cos he was oblivious to it all, even the kids shouting to him from ahead.

They'll get theirs one day when the kid gives it back in multiples.Unfortunately I think that the rest of us will suffer more. Kids without respect for their parents are kids who have never learned respect from their parents, and will grow up without respect for anyone else. They'll be the little shits pinching your bike/car robbing your house - but they'd never hurt their dear old mum...

I don't know anything about all these papers but there was a short film on Googlecurrent (some sky channel?) about a guy who lives off only Daily Mail for four weeks. So at least now I have some idea about that particular paper :)
The classic parental unit line to the kid: "Don't fucking swear at your brother Robbie!"

kids can be manipulative little feckers sometimes - no harm in ignoring a tantrum here and there. Still though - being such a dick to anyone, progeny included, is poor.

I've had a mother push her buggy right out in front of me when I was going full pelt up the inside of the traffic. I hit the buggy and did a somersault over it landing on my back and the bike landed further down the road. I got up with all these people running to see if I was alright when all I was bothered about was that I thought I killed a baby. The mother had left the buggy on the road to see how I was, luckily the baby was fine though, don't think it even woke up!

parenting is HARD
give these poor sleep-deprived, skint, overworked, depressed, sex-starved buggers a break.
Or is that just me?
Saw something at lunch that really depressed me.
Mother and Kid/pram combo coming up the street, kid burbling away, Mother rinsing out beats from headphones loud enough for me to hear.
What the fuck?
