  • anyone know if any shops in town stock these? thanks.

  • BLB does... i'm not sure where else - i get mine online.

  • Yeah, if you have time, ProBikeKit have them for £11.50 ish

  • hey hippy what's the main difference between the rubino and the rubino pro's anyway (i mean apart from stuff like tpi, foldable and tech specs)? do they last longer (skid skid skid skid skid.........)?

  • i think condor do i'm sure i've seen some in there.

  • edmundane hey hippy what's the main difference between the rubino and the rubino pro's anyway (i mean apart from stuff like tpi, foldable and tech specs)? do they last longer (skid skid skid skid skid.........)?

Thats all there is to it really, higher tpi (so you can pump them up to like 145psi) and foldable (so lighter). Can't see them being any different to normal rubinos in lifetime. I go for rubino pros on the front, but normal ones on the back.

  • Rubinos are also cheap at http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/ - from 6.50 and up.

I'd also go with the Rubino Pros. They held up well for training rides and track racing down at Herne Hill. Decent grip, get cut-up but don't puncture much and a decent TPI count makes them much more supple than most tires in this price range.

  • Aren't the Rubinos steel beaded and the Pros are folding/kevlar bead? That's a pretty big difference right there :)
Durability-wise I can't really comment as I was running Pro on the roadie and normal ones on the fixed. I don't really skid the roadie so it'd be unfair comparison.
Defo like the Pros though. I just bought 4 of them.

  • Thats sorta covered by the folding / non-folding bit though isnt it ;)

  • I think I skipped right over your post, sorry. Two fscked days.. eyesight bad.. catching up now.. :)

  • in that case if they don't last any longer i think i'll just stick with the normal ones. cheaper. i skid them to hell anyway.
