Is Ciclos Uno still going?
These frames were listed last spring.
And they look identical to the Dolan rubbish at a quarter of the price.
-
• #5
Agreed they look like shitty frames worth £150
-
• #6
what, you mean it's the same colour?
-
• #7
agreed, what a frame looks like definitely directly affects it's performance and ride quality.
-
• #8
hehehe
Unrelated to the frame above mostly but I thought Principia went bust years ago?

The website stuff is probably stickers as that looks like an original Principia before they went bust and where taken over. In which case the colour is an anodised finish. Those frame are far from rubbish .. Principia's where handmade with custom to Principia tubing and they are regarded as probably the very best Alloy frames you could buy at the time - the Danish track team used a similar frame to the one advertised - any defect in the finish or the perfect tig welds and the frame was rejected by the craftsmen making them in Denmark, which is believed to be why they went bust! But beware if your buying that frame and fork (Issac Germany) will be very stiff to ride.
And yes, I am a little bias as I have one a 2005 track Principia set up with a front brake for road riding mileage at this time of the year.

Not half. But if anyone's brave enough to buy one, I've got a couple of spare, bright pink cycling caps that match the frame.

and you lot better mop up soweto's caps t-mobile's stopped sponsoring a cycling team pink caps are going to get rare this summer :P

no edmundane that would be where they experimented with anodising carbon steel to save weight .. which causes rust puffs up and flakes off, constantly exposing new metal to corrosion.

Yep, I fucking hate that, it really cheapens the bike, it genuinely puts me off buying a frame.

i often borrow a friend's Principia road bike and love it.
i like that frame above but £500 is stretching the wilkinson exchequer a bit too far

so all the companies who are forward thinking enough to sponsor cycle teams and cycling events should not be allowed to advertise their wares?....so then we'd have no sponsors and no professional / high grade cycling events.....whooopeee!!!
these bikes are clearly pro team or at least sponsored riders bikes which were surplus to requirements.....my advice would be, if you're thinking of taking up track racing, grab yourself an absolute bargain and peel the offending stickers off.

Principia make absolutely superb high end alu track racing frames. Don't buy it though if your sick of you 60's British steel frame and are looking for an upgrade to ride around London. Pure racing machines these.

Not mine, but Ciclos Uno have a couple of Principa Track frames half price (£499 from £999).
