  • Shinscar ok probably not the right place to put this but waterproof socks they any good?

I've been wearing mine pretty much throughout the winter over a regular pair of ankle socks and am pretty pleased with them. They're Porelle Drys - which I think changed into Sealskinz . They must be about 12 years old now.

  • Hello dragons I am after a £100 k investment in my new product aimed at the adventure sports and clowning market.

  • ... and it also doubles up as a disk wheel.
    (photoshop skills required)

  • you know what, i bet you'd make a fortune selling those by the seaside on the miserable east coast resorts!!!! :)

    what a cock!

  • pj "HTFU"
    you said it.

I never see anyone else in shorts or t-shirts though.. except for northerners.. not sure about the Scots, they might be more sensible? ha!

  • i see no end of FREAKS cycling to work in shorts in stupidly cold weather. in fact, there's a guy where i work who rides in wearing summer lycra, he's a mentalist.

Bet he suffers from terrible 'shrinkage' in this weather, can't be good for ya... ;-)

  • Roll on the snow.....maybe we'll get as much as Iowa.....just been sent this by a mate out there...

  • right, im getting mud guards... or im making some!

  • I was just about to leave the house this morning - having listened to the wind howling all night - when I discovered that the fixed had a flat. With no time to change the tube, I opted for gears instead. This may be the first instance of good luck that I've ever experienced. The wind was enough to strip the skin off your face - real chin to handlebars weather. If I'd been stuck with 41 x 16, I'd still be on my way to work just now.

  • You reckon it was windy here?

  • rode home against the wind and torrential rain. rain felt like handfull of tiny bearings hitting my face...i knew i shouldve had eyewear today...not a pleasant ride home

  • Which way? I took my sunnies off coz the water beads on 'em and I can't see much. Didn't think it was too bad out my way.

  • i was sw bound, from city to wandsworth/putney. against the wind all the way (i think wind was blowin SW or SSW). the way the wind was blowin, wouldnt have had the chance to bead up on glasses

  • You were on the receiving end of what I had to deal with this morning, and which pushed me home at great speed :-).

  • i didn't spot anyone. it was wet and i was cursing. oh, and my brake cable snapped, so i rode brakeless for a few miles, in the pissing rain, not that my brake was working that well anyway. and my lockring worked loose. and the sprocket slipped. apart from that it was great fun.

  • Ah, it's nice to hear a fellow aficionado of the well maintained bicycle..

  • I got soaked to the skin twice today.

    how nice.

    now there is some...sun...

yep, I can see sun outside now. FFS.

  • hehe, my arse has just dried out, gonna rain again just before i leave work

  • The weather's going to be good tomorrow - allegedly...

  • i'm currently going commando at work as even my boxers were soaked through!!!!

We gonna meet up tonight RPM?

  • yeah, but put some pants on first!
