There's nothing wrong with the community spirit. The holier than thou-spirit, however, I think most people can be without.
I have no say in this whatsoever, since I haven't been a member of this forum from the start, nor have I been to a single bike polo, nor had a beer at Jon Snow. And I ride a Surly. Tarred and feathered. Nevermind.
