PJ - you truly made my week with that polemic. An exact breakdown of why I detest DaFoney and his ilk so. Sheer narcissism, plain and simple.
He obviously believes his own (self-spread) hype and truly feels that he is the oracle of cycling knowledge. Honestly, if I weren't across the pond, I'd march right into his offices and try to engage him in a serious conversation about how in the hell he justifies his delusions of grandeur to himself.
I really don't see an enormous difference between Malone giving 'an evening lecture on the design and fashion impact of the bicycle' and Chidi Ogbuta of Allen, Texas sending CNN pictures of her wedding cake:
Yes, that's a life-size model of the bride, as a wedding cake. Self-absorbed much?
What the hell possible point is there to a lecture on the design and fashion impact of the bicycle to anyone? If I were writing a thesis on this very specific subject, maybe this might be of marginal use to me - if it weren't being delivered by such a brainless no-mark as the Typographic Cyclist.
