  • Hey. Let's get one thing straight. I was trying to point out that the SF guy asking for details on the factory where the jerseys were made was doing a smart thing. I'm not saying that all Chinese production is unethical. But I do think it's bloody stupid for asking the question to be seen as politically incorrect. How the hell else are you supposed to stop there being a market for such things if you don't ask the question when you make your buying decision? This whole 'oh it's rude to ask and of course things are better now because it's not the 1980s and so I can just be a sheeplike consumer and not spend the time finding out where things I buy come from' is lazy and irresponsible.

    Edited to add - because, like it or not, there are companies doing unethical things in China (and in many other places, for that matter). I wouldn't buy something over the internet without looking up the manufacturer's policies the same way I wouldn't buy a bike in Brick Lane.
