i see no end of FREAKS cycling to work in shorts in stupidly cold weather. in fact, there's a guy where i work who rides in wearing summer lycra, he's a mentalist.

I was just about to leave the house this morning - having listened to the wind howling all night - when I discovered that the fixed had a flat. With no time to change the tube, I opted for gears instead. This may be the first instance of good luck that I've ever experienced. The wind was enough to strip the skin off your face - real chin to handlebars weather. If I'd been stuck with 41 x 16, I'd still be on my way to work just now.

You reckon it was windy here?

Which way? I took my sunnies off coz the water beads on 'em and I can't see much. Didn't think it was too bad out my way.

You were on the receiving end of what I had to deal with this morning, and which pushed me home at great speed :-).

i didn't spot anyone. it was wet and i was cursing. oh, and my brake cable snapped, so i rode brakeless for a few miles, in the pissing rain, not that my brake was working that well anyway. and my lockring worked loose. and the sprocket slipped. apart from that it was great fun.

I'll call you when i leave rpm, bout 6pm from westend, whether or not i wear pants will be a suprise!! ha!
I've been wearing mine pretty much throughout the winter over a regular pair of ankle socks and am pretty pleased with them. They're Porelle Drys - which I think changed into Sealskinz . They must be about 12 years old now.
