  • Where the hell am I gonna put 20 soma tyres? Ebay? ;-)

  • Frames are more exciting and harder to come buy at a good price. It doesn't give me a warm feeling inside bulk buying toilet roll from Aldi even although I know I've saved money & I'm not gonna get caught short again for a while. However, getting something more exciting like a frame and saving money will give me a warm feeling and the saving margin will be greater.

If I am being obstreperous I will zip it & let you guys get on with it.

  • you're not gonna be that excited when 100 other cunts in the same city have the same frame as you

  • They manage fine in China no? Happy faces everywhere

...It's all about those saved pennies

  • hahaha he said "cunts" hahaha

I like the tyre, tube, blah idea. I go through quite a few tubes and tyres in a year. I like saving money.

  • for 3 and a half grand boikes.. :)

  • I don't wear bullshit designer clothes coz I spend my money on what I like. If that includes expensive pieces of carbon with wheels.. so be it :)

Good night last night? Finish the vodka? haha

    That sounds cool.

I'd be up for any sort of nice moneysaving scheme though.

I could put on 30kg and still be faster than you and that upsets you. Ha!

with the amount of training and riding you do, there'd be something wrong if you weren't faster than me!

  • It ain't all fat, that's all I'm saying. Fat jokes are getting old now I'm all like sober and shit. :S

  • runcible rakan portland cyclewear are shit quality

I own a couple and have really liked them.

Then I washed them at 40'c and they shrunk.

Ah well. I should've stuck to 30'c or hand-wash, but that would be my fault and not PCW's.

For the time they fitted they were comfortable, warm, seams all good and were damn nice.

  • fair enough. I have one from a few years ago, stitching coming apart all over the place, material no where near as good as the earth wind and rider jersey i have. Also despite being my size it was far too short for a cycle jersey.

PCW doesnt seem to get very good rep on the american forums either.

Here in SF we had nightmares getting them to deliver on the promises they made. Also, the guy in charge is a bit of a prick, to put it mildly. This is from the FGG Forums:

This is a transcript from a recent email exchange that I had with Chad Krueger of Portland Cyclewear (the company that many of use did a group purchase with - and who supports the FGG). I wish I had done this investigating before I bought one from this company.

    Hi Chad,

What can you tell me about the factory that producers the jersey's? I see that they're made in China and this is cause for some concern related to labor issues, workers rights, and safe/humane working conditions.

If you can tell me where exactly the jersey's are made, that will help me a great deal with my decision.

    Thanks,
    Andy

I actually keep a butch of china men in base basement doing the work. Not to worry, they get three squares a day.

Good luck with your.... ah.... pursuit. Not tell-un

    Chad,

You can rest assured that we are not trying to steal business away from Portland Cycle Wear, we're a coffee roaster and that's all we have time for.

We're 100% committed to fair trade and organic coffee, so we always look into the manufacturing side of things when we consider new purchases. If your jerseys are not made in sweatshops, we can do business with you. We just have to ask to be true to ourselves, that's all.

    So....
    Andy

The eighties are over Andy, you've got to be kidding.

    Chad,

Without this base level of transparency, we cannot do business with you. I'll be returning your sample jersey's but I won't be placing an order.

    Welcome to 2007,
    Andy

    Good for you.

Jerseys need to be returned unharmed by next week or you will receive full charges.*

SFFixed ordered 45 Wool Jerseys from him on November 28th 2006, with an estimated delivery in January 2007. They arrived on April 30th, 2007. In San Francisco. Which is somewhat closer to Portland than London is.
