This morning on my way to work and riding down commercial rd. I over take this geared claude butler hybrid with aerobars and im like just hitting my coasting speed in the bus lane.

Traffic lights at the crossroads ahead been red for a while and you know that its gonna change back to green at any moment, so you don't ease off...

UNLESS... theres a rubbish truck at those lights, not signaling and in the left hand lane.

So i ease off and claude goes past me... oh... the lights change... and the truck pulls a little right then turns back in left... claude gets his rear wheel pushed by the truck.

And comes off. Truck no left signal. Guy on the floor away from his bike. Two truckers come out of their truck. Hand brake on the truck is off starts rolling and pushing his bike towards him. Trucker one goes back in truck puts handbrake on. I go over to cyclist see hes alright. Trucker two asks too. I say you didn't signal mate to the trucker! He says yes i did. Taxi driver says if you want to take my details mate i saw the whole thing...get this, to the trucker! Motor biker (who was just behind me) says you didnt signal mate. Cyclist says if you said you signaled i'll believe you... Trucker say yeah i did... so...

he said hes fine, he has a bike that isnt fine. also says he doesnt want to take any details.... at that point i ride off thinkin hes stupid... FAIR?

No signal means that the truck is technically to blame, but my guess is that ex-Claude-rider knew that he'd rolled the dice by taking the inside at the junction without certainty that he could complete the pass before the lights changed.
IMO he's to be admired for his humility and realism - he knew the risks, gambled and lost, but I'm sure is grateful to escape with his life, unlike too many others.

I blame the cabbie. They put me off hating everyone else, even dodgy manouvre/signal/mirror HGV drivers*. Did Jesus do the knowledge does anyone know?

just after an accident the brain never works properly. too much adrenalin. the guy's an idiot. always take as many details off anyone present as possible. the guy is probably kicking himself wondering why he didn't. I know the feeling because i did something similar when a rickshaw pulled out in front of me two years ago. i thought i was ok and thought my bike was ok so i just rode off, then when i got home, i realised the forks were bent and my head was bleeding.
