The Great British Weather Myth
"Obsessed with the weather" they told us back home - All lies!! :P
I know I shouldn't use BBC weather as an example but do those guys ever get the forecast right?
It was warmer today than yesterday and today was meant to be super-chilled and fkn snow. Couldn't predict yesterday's weather those fools.. -
• #432
yeah, and even warmer today. uncork the summer wine.

Wet paving slabs in Canary Wharf this morning = me stacking it. Nice graze on me knee.
-
• #434
I'll see your grazed knee and raise you a broken rib on a manhole cover + front brake = fiasco. I've been moaning to my better half for two weeks now ... thought I'd see if anyone here has sympathy. Maybe my NY resolution should be Avoid Manhole Covers Religiously.

I can play too.
The day after the AGM drinkies, I too lost the front wheel on a manhole cover.
12 stitches above the eyebrow and a fair chunk of my face went missing. Lotsa blood.
CUNTY.The scar will be mint, though.

Yeah, all is cool, cheers.
It is amazing, the healing powers of Thatcher's cider and marijuana. The worst bit of it all was that the beard had to go.

Oh dear, bad luck. You win, I can't stand blood I would've fainted... I'm used to broken bones being a skateboarder. My self medication took the form of Brandy and the odd spliff, painkillers stop things from healing properly. Or are those the kind you meant, Hippy?!
-

I met BRM that night so yes, I was referring to the more natural kind of painkillers..
Whatcha mean chemical ones stop you healing? What sort? How? Why? What? Really? Damn. There goes my codeine habit.

Ha! R U Sirius? As if drug companies want people to actually get better! That'd be like inventing the water powered car, or the everlasting lightbulb. They'd be out of business.
Brufen (aka Ibuprofen) is an anti inflammatory. Bones develop an inflamed 'sheath' (!) around the break to provide the right environment to grow back together. No Inflammation = no growth.
Codiene's fine though, if you want to feel like you're smacked out of your face all the time.

Oh, I knew about ibuprofen and bone damage. I didn't go near the stuff with broken bones.
I was thinking about 'proper' painkillers and didn't include ibuprofen in that list :)What about paracetamol and aspirin? They're pretty harmless in correct dose aren't they?

Gosh! You've uncovered me as a fraud who doesn't know WTF I'm talking about - I've no idea! Personally, they all make me feel naseous. I guess Paracetemol the least. Anyway pain is your body's way of saying 'don't move that way, it's damaging things' , right? I just stick to herb and comfort eating.

Tramadol. Hmm. Tramadol.

It seemed to be going west to east, though maybe tall buildings skew that anyway. A bit scary at some points! The silver lining: first time I've actually needed the drops on my bars ...
'which was nice'
was much colder this evening than this morning down by the sea,
hope don't get too cold only just got back on the bike after six weeks off
