Can anyone tell me what these pedals are?

  • I have no idea. Anyone know what they are?

  • old skool shimano 105 NOS...no longer in production...id say....

  • i think they might be shimano 600s, sold a pair recently, quite nice.

  • shimano 105's.

i have a pair. i think they're the worst pedals i've ever used.

  • I discovered they are indeed 105's. I like the look of them, and was gonna try and track some down. However that was in a purely aesthetic way. If you say they are the worst pedals you have ever used, thats a pretty strong statement and I shall not bother.

  • There are a range of the same style from Shimano. These probably are the 105's as the finishing is not so polished. The Duraace version look much better, very polished and smart, and the bearings are good too - I had a pair for years (about 15 years ago ...) on my competition bike. I also had some 600's on my training bike, which were okay (looked good - but the bearings not so - but you will probably not be doing 10,000 miles a year on them?). The 105's I do not know about but they would have been lesser quality than the 600's. I would say that if you can find some Duraace then good, but not the others.

  • I've got a pair of 600's. Good bearings, but the shape can be uncomfortable in normal trainers.

  • depends really, the make quality is good and everything. i just don't think they're good for fixed riding or for me. the clips are plastic and really thin, they will break really easily.
reason why i said they're the worst is that the weight distribution of the pedal around the spindle is 50/50. that means they lay horizontal and trying to flip them over and get your feet into the pedal on a fixed bike is an absolute nightmare.

  • ^Really? I didn't have this problem on my 600's, just a little bit of getting used to. But you are right about the plastic clips.

  • photoben I've got a pair of 600's. Good bearings, but the shape can be uncomfortable in normal trainers.

Yes - good point, if you are going to wear trainers forget these pedals - no support for the end of the foot - with cycling shoes this is supplied by the rigid sole ....

  • Bicycle magic had plenty of the snidey ones in stock..bloody uncomfortable!!

    MKS Sylvan everytime,imo.
