Just what I was going to say. It does look a bit funny but not that out of proportion. I think you have been looking at it too much instead of riding it and have made a big issue out of a little issue. I think you may just have to except your height and become one with it. End of counseling session that will be £50 please.

I think you may be right, the frame is of un-known age, there is loads of clearance though, I have 700c x 28 boots on it and mudguards would be no problem at all, I can probably get my fat fingers between the tyre/frame gaps. I do wonder if it was designed for 27" rims hence my thoughts on building a pair up for it.
