Looks great! Did they have any problems fitting the rear wheel in when adding the track ends? I know a few people who've wanted to add track end to their road frames but found the wheel then hits against the bar across the stays.
If I had the cash...
Shame you can't keep it but lucky for the buyer. -

no, they're large enough ends to stop that from happening. Not sure if there would be room for much above a 25 tyre.

Looks like they did a great job. Love the old lettering and the quirky logo. Grows on you. Be nice if someone here gets it.

I really want that, it;s lovely - my size, my colour. Like you RPM, I don't think I could afford the time/outlay to do it justice though. Dammit!

how old is it..?
-
• #9
80's I guess
-

having seen it in the flesh it's got a lot going for it, it's not silly heavy like a carbolite pug or a 501 raleigh, it's 700c, racey geometry not slack and it's never going to look like a dodgy conversion but a nice tight road fixed with proper dropouts.
it needs proper silver components no risers or deep v's :-) -

so...how much did you pay?

lovely frame, it’s so unbelievably dour. You can imagine phillip larkin riding it to work at the library in the rain then calling in at the grocers for a tin of corned beef and some boot polish.

i think he should build it up rather than sell it. but i'm not about to lend him the money to do so.
-
• #16
i think you should keep it, take the parts off your bareknuckle put on this frame and upgrade as and when you can..
-
• #17
i agree, i think he should too. but he'd be bound to put risers and pink Deep V's on, so maybe not
-
• #18
i think you're the only man dour enough to pull off a frame like that.

31t®um i think you should keep it, take the parts off your bareknuckle put on this frame and upgrade as and when you can..
I did think about that, but:
a, I'm lazy
b, I can't afford a new rear axle and seat post (the ones I have on the BK won't fit this)
c, I'm used to the way the BK rides nowhaving said that, if nobody wants it, I may well use it instead of the BK and sell that.
seems a shame though, as I only use one bike and all that new paint will get knocked around from the off -

rpm, i'll sort out some bits for you.
what size post does it need?
build it up you lazy, grumpy old get.
It'll be worth it.
you'll probably get a tenner more than you paid to sort it all out selling it, you could make that by selling the old dog.

• #21
yeah, ya lazy basket.....it'll be worth it.

Yeah, jeez. Get with the program

that bike needs to ridden...
It is the night. My body's weak.
I'm on the run. No time to sleep.
I've got to ride.Ride like the wind to be free again.
And I got such a long way to go.
To make it to the border of Mexico.
So I'll ride like the wind.I was born the son of a lawless man.
Always spoke my mind with a gun in my hand.
Lived nine lives
gunned down ten.
Gonna ride like the wind. And I got such a long way to go.
To make it to the border of Mexico.
So I'll ride like the wind.
Ride like the wind.
Ride like the wind. -
