  • Leave 1 x big lock & chain at home, 1 x big lock & chain at work...........you may as well just buy a new car......thats going to be so expensive!

  • RPM you don't know that....

your right......but the fact you never leave your house suggest you haven't.

  • Get a bike no matter what. Every time I have to suffer the indignity of the tube at rush hour I swear I'd rather walk home. And I just swear, generally.
If you have to lock your bike outside, leave it somewhere very busy and public, and use two or three good locks. Make it as hard as possible for the little shits, and hopefully they'll go for an easier target. The last bike I had nicked was from my house; bastards kicked the door in while I was out.

...less expensive than buying a new bike...

  • £200-300 in decent locks or another bike, mmmm, let me think for a millisecond.

i suppose that depends entirely on the price of the bike....

  • there's no need to commute on a bling bike in london, you're just asking for trouble. you're just asking for someone to steal the bike. you might as well just give em the cash and be done with it.

Sounds good where do I sign and to whom do I make the cheque payable?

But your pimp did on your behalf last night.

    Liverpool?

  • Ha ha are you a premiership footballer?

  • They didn't take much else - just a bag of euros worth about £20 and a bike worth about £500.
And my European Cup Winners medal worth 35p.

  • what about your pride man!!!??

see if it was mouse's penthouse in NottingHill, they would leave the bike, a) coz it's so heavy, b) it's ugly, and c) they'd be too dazzled by all the rhynstones in the curtains. :D :D

  • Dale, for that comment I'm sacking you from your job as my cleaner. (You never quite got those rhinestones to sparkle as they should). : P

  • Thanks for all the replies chaps. It all makes sense (even the ghey banter - I'm used to a motorbike forum called visordown, notorious for its merciless banter...). I've got a hack, steel, made out of scaffold poles, has 'Made in Vietnam' stamped on the bottom bracket and weighs about as much as an SUV but it's geared and I've been wanting to try SS or FW. Suppose I could always get one but use it like Sunday best.

    =)
