• The car park until the police politely moved us on...

and a currently lethal brake-free. free wheel potential polo machine

Good to meet you all, the new polo site's great! With a free adventure playground and an off license attached...

  • Snowy - loved your stopping manoeuvres on the ramps! Praps consider going for a fixed wheel on that monster? :)

  • Cheers everyone, glad we got thrown out and found the much better spot.

    See you next week?

  • Great to meet everyone last night. So the Adventure playground was a winner? Is it lit? Raised sides?

I'm really looking forward to next time now. I'll see you all in Jan.

  • asm That was good fun guys, next time hopefully it'll be a little warmer, and i won't be on the wrong side of the ball the whole time. Fucking great court we've found!

Emily - hope you got home ok with that gammy brake!
Brendan - I'm away for the christmas break now but i'll busy meself and make a couple o' mallets (and practice!) ready for next year :)

Oh hi john, how come you didn't turn up??

Yeah was fine, it was a bitch ridding in today though had to keep pulling my break apart after every time I used it. Cheers for the help. Thank god you found that bolt ridding back with no handle bars would have been interesting hey.

I have a work shop/basement affair. We could build mallets in there if anyone needs to have room and worktop space to be creative......

I emailed the lady from the Brixton wreck this morning a guy got back to me pretty much instantly- he would like a short blog and pictures of what we do. Feel free to put any input any info .as I am just going to make ALL ABOUT THE COMUNITY.....
Johnny going to get to work on my stabiliser polo bike you want one ; )

  • yeah all I really enjoyed it as well. now a bit gutted that I had to take off after the car park.

Really looking forward to doing it again when i'm back in Jan!
    -Dan

  • So where's the place that you found - the adventure playground and car park on the way to Herne Hill? Should have thought of that as it's about 100m from my flat.

  • momentum, yeah that's the one. luckily it was open cos there was some local socialists group meeting on. for group, read, like two people.

anyway, good session that all, thoroughly enjoyed it. and defo up for some more practice - think i might try and specialise in the move of taking out the man with the best mallet and then switching them over whilst in a heap on the floor - sorry skoota ;) and thanks for getting that together, and for adding some actual skill to the play. props to stelle on that score too.

am up for checking out flatlanders suggested venue in peckham but in the meantime would be good to secure that place on railton road. top venue. will happily write a para about social inclusivity or somesuch community angle if you like.

so em, put me down for some words if you like and also for sure the ultimate stabilised polo steed. don't forget to have a rubber stamp of your signature on the bottom of your mallet so you can dole out your autographs to your adoring fans...

  • Props to everyone, nice to meet you guys.

  • got some pics of that playground?

  • jonny momentum, yeah that's the one. luckily it was open cos there was some local socialists group meeting on. for group, read, like two people.

Used to be able to get in there all the time, but think they sorted that when they renovated it over the summer. What do they want us to write? My job involves writing that kinda stuff so sure I can lend a hand.

Lecar - if no one has pics I can get some at the weekend or one evening

  • momentum - i think ; ) is coordinating the words (em ???) so will appreciate any help.

lecar - i think skoota or snowy again had cameras so hopefully can put a few piccies up - guys? i don't think it's as big as the brick lane court and a bit more ragged but was well decent, floodlit and easy to get to (if you take brixton as the heart of the south)

  • Well I do the writing of the words like that for a living too, so can always assist. but then too many cooks etc.

Don't have any Dexter Adventure pics from last night, my fingers were starting to go numb at that point and the Socialist Worker geezer was boring me into submission. But its on my morning cycle ride, so can take a snap tomorrow.

  • please if any of you fancy's adding stuff it would be great. whisper me and will send you my email. when i finish it will put a link and you can all give it the GO ahead:

  • easy now...respec to those that showed up last night. I think if we can keep the people at that playground on side and don't pisss them off with, um slamming into their portakabin at high speed we should be able to make it a regular weekly thing. I had so much fun, really really funny, good mallet knicking skills jonny ;) and great to go for a beer after too. Great serendipity getting booted out of that carpark.

  • looks like you had a great time, book me in for some new year Brixtonian action!

  • nice, i had some college work to do so couldnt come down but next week should be good.

  • Wondered where you guys had got to, I rolled up at the car park (pissed as a fart) at about 9-ish, a bloke in there said you'd all been moved on... See you all next week, that's only 'round the corner from mine! :D

  • I never noticed that respect thing on the side of the building!

If anyone is in newcastle in the next few weeks please tell me!! Haha going to make some mallets, but i only know 1 other fixed rider up here... 1 on 1 would be boring!

  • does any one have any good pics of polo???? cheers

    em

  • ; ) please if any of you fancy's adding stuff it would be great. whisper me and will send you my email. when i finish it will put a link and you can all give it the GO ahead:

    Yo!
Any news whoever wrote to the Railton Rd people?

  • em did you want pics for the people from railton rd? maybe take them off my flickr page, but add some good ones from brick lane to show them how it looks in the light..

  • Same time, same place ppl?

  • Flatlander Same time, same place ppl?

yeah, i'm up for it. if we have enough bodies and mallets.

i am hoping to get one built over the yuletide period.
