Is the increasing popularity of fixed gear bikes sustainable?

sonicboom! ive only been riding fixed gear for about a week and i cant see myself riding anything else for a long time. its a conversion aswell and i hated riding with gears. i like the less is more approach. i can see shoppers being the new "in" thing. ive been seeing them everywhere including this one which ive had for 2 years

raleigh wayfarer (dont know the year) came with a sturmey archer 3 speed hub, hardly used brooks saddle, 50's style front and rear dynamo lights, everything clean shiny and working. all for......£40. best bargain ever
