  • Lets just all let it be and go to the pub.

  • RPM they need to get proper jobs, something of use to society, like sweeping the streets or collecting rubbish.

oh doesn't that remind me of boy george...

  • i want that pint now

  • h2o In my unscientific opinion, the choice of words, tone of voice and understanding of the law expressed in both emails is so close that I'd wager they were written by the same person. In particular I'd point out that in the second email he says "at this point we really do not feel this is worth pursuing" - which to me is highly suggestive of a continuity of thought between the first email and the second.

Not that I could prove that in a court of law - it's just a hunch. I write for a living so I spend a lot of time thinking about how people put one word after another, but at the end of the day I'm just another punter sticking his oar in.

    interesting.......

  • TheBrick(Tommy) Lets just all let it be and go to the pub.

    I did.

    went to the pub.

  • What was this about Tony Malone and theft?

Also I don't think I've seen any posts having a pop at his sexual orientation or his deafness or for that matter any death threats.

Me suspects a fake or a paranoid delusional.

Not paranoid delusional, just very highly strung and living in a bubble with his french boyfriend who doesn't (dare?) disagree with him. In my humble opinion, your libelous highness.

it's a bt broadband IP address, for what it's worth proves nothing.

In fact, it's probably a London BT Broadband IP address, which still proves nothing...HostIP

  • Turpe, loved the Frank Lampard reference! (I am a gooner too and share your opnion).

What a strange turn of events. And what an odd man. VB, hope it hasn't caused you too much stress/hassle.

I think Tommy's suggestion to go for a pint is the best.

  • No stress at all really. From the start I knew there was nothing that was going to be done to me personally. I've run forums for over a decade and have faced a lot of legal threats, and 99% of them are unfounded, in the wrong jurisdiction, aimed at the wrong entity or just laughable (the funniest ones are the ones who threaten to sue for 'hotlinking'). It's kinda laughable.

I hadn't read everything posted though, so didn't actually know if any post did contain defaming content. I was a bit worried that they might actually try and sue someone on here. Though how they'd get your identity to sue I don't know.

  • I live at 123 Fake Street if the Rozzers come knockin.

  • just add " alledgedly " after every sentence you type and hey presto you are in the clear just like ian hislop

he has avoided a countless private eye defamation cases just by adding alledgedly

    allegedly....

  • In light of this;

The content of certain posts on various threads on your forum probably do go beyond the acceptable boundaries of free speech and legitimate criticism. I am referring to several gratuitous and irrelevant unfarourable references to Tony Malone's deafness and sexual orientation...

I stand by my "favourite gay designer" comment earlier in the thread.
This comment is neither defamatory or negative in nature, for it to be viewed as such would require a slur on the comments original and sarcastic intention.

To bring any form of legal action over this comment would require severe ignorance over my own sexuality.

I stand by my "favourite gay designer" comment earlier in the thread.

What if when you typed this you forgot about another gay designer whos work you rate much higher? Really you could well be lying. He is probably your 2nd favorite gay designer.

  • Like I said. Sarcastic overtones.
I have three favourite gay designers/artists, but they're into visual and performance art, not bikes.

  • I think it's fair to say that he is my least favourite gay designer

  • In couldn't possibly class him as my least favourite gay designer.
I'd need to consider him a bonafide designer first and that would be insulting to every designer I've ever heard of.

  • he's definately my least favorite gay (just beating graham norton).
julian and sandy (from bbc radio's round the horne) are my favorite gays ever.

  • ooooh bona bicycles - check out the lallies on the omy mr smith

  • its not like he's killed anyone though is it? why dont we wait til old kent bikes opens before passing judgement?

  • But he has allegedly ( ;] ) already helped destroy Witcomb, though time will tell whether he's been successful in this.

  • The news of DfD moving into Witcomb's address made me think of this:

    *virus

    noun

    1. (virology) ultramicroscopic infectious agent that replicates itself only within cells of living hosts; many are pathogenic; a piece of nucleic acid (DNA or RNA) wrapped in a thin coat of protein
    2. a harmful or corrupting agency*

Move into a place, screw it up and move on afterwards. I especially like definition #2.

    Allegedly.

  • Object17 But he has allegedly ( ;] ) already helped destroy Witcomb, though time will tell whether he's been successful in this.

i went in there about 2 weeks ago to get my chain fixed and they were very busy but still sorted me out and had a chat about my frame. they've also got some beautiful bikes and frames on display at the front of the shop i dont remember them being there before. i think its too soon to say if witcomb is being destroyed, i was pissed when the prices went up as well but maybe they would of had to close down if they kept the prices at the old level
