that film is about my life

yeah, there were definitely some inaccuracies in the movie, the wu-tang tattoo in the 1970s being one of them.
overall i thought it was really well done, with maybe one or two superfluous scenes.

Hank Shocklees's retro music productions are amazing.

Yep, saw the wutang tat, totally threw me out of the movie, as if one of the 1960's characters had just made a call on their iphone

Does his tattoo say "one love 1998" or something?
What makes it a modern tattoo?

here is the article on which the film was based - a very good read
check the comments from readers at the end, esp. the ones from residents of Harlem in the 70s... kind of put the glamorous glow of the movie in perspective...

CHUG_IT Yo i'm not going to say anythign about the movie or anything, so don't worry about me spoiling it if you haven't seen it..
BUT
set in the 60's/70's/80's, RZA is in it and dude's got his Wu tattoo hanging out... didn't Makeup realise??
Kinda slipped up there.
Okay that's all.
saw it yesterday and i spotted that too! kind of brings you out of the film for a moment, its a big close up too almost as if they wanted it in there. Enjoyed the film though.

I expect the fact that it's the Wu-tang logo and they're formed in the 90s.

Not everyone is as cool as you, and funnily enough don't care a toss for hip-hop.
Tattoo says wu to you, for everyone else it is just a weird design.

Wasn't trying to be a smart arse about it. I haven't seen the film so was just guessing about the tattoo, hence the "I expect..."

I was listening to Wu-Tang back in 93 so I know a bit about them, but even with their popularity and respect in the hip-hop/rap world they are still niche and irrelevant/offputting to the majority of music consumers.
