  • Dragon Ride ;0)

  • That's probably it :)

  • Here's another one, up north, June next year:
    http://www.northernrockcyclone.co.uk/CycloneChallenge.asp

  • There is this one too.

I seriously thinking about making a weekend out of this.

    http://www.dartmoorclassic.co.uk/

  • That looks cool too! Damn.. tonnes of these.
Is there a train station near this place?
You taking the van? Want someone to split fuel/etc costs?

  • Dartmoor Classic certainly looks cool.

Maybe we can get enough people to go to hire a van for the bikes?

  • I was going to organise it properly. Book bunkhouse/B&B I can fit Eight others in my van and take their bikes on my trailer and roof.

    Watch this space.

  • Not very presumptuous of me.. ;)

    Dartmoor Classic:

    1. Caspar
    2. Hippy
  • I rode the Cheddar sportif last year and that was a pleasant day out, a friendly lot down there in the west country replete with cider and accents.

  • ill put it down as tentative. may or may not be in the country for that date

    Dartmoor Classic:

    1. Caspar
    2. Hippy
    3. fatboyralph?

here's the other good one i mentioned last nite uci highclere castle sportive http://www.cyclosport.org/article.aspx?id=148&eventid=27

  • Dartmoor Classic:

    1. Caspar
    2. Hippy
    3. fatboyralph?
    4. fuzzbrain? (rob)

I think I'm gonna need to get me one of those new-fangled bikes with those gear thingies. Any suggestions?

  • I'm just sorting out the Roller Race at the moment. I haven't forgotten about this..........I'l be sorting out accomodation choices soon.

  • Nice one Casp or is that winspar? ;)
I've hopefully got enough reminders scattered throughout the carnage that is my life so will probably hassle you and others randomly until it happens..

  • Here's some more..

9-12th May, Tour of Ireland, 200k/day
    http://www.tourofireland.eu/home.htm

One closer to London, the Chiltern 100 (80k to 170k options)
I reckon I have to do this as it's in my backyard as westiescum.
    1st June

  • Registered for both the Dragon ride and Tour of Wessex. Would like to also do a couple earlier in the year - Fred Whitton looks a bit hard though.

  • i think catford have a reliability ride this week. or this month. i can't quite remember.

  • pj i think catford have a reliability ride this week. or this month. i can't quite remember.

Great route, but I won't be doing it. Only time on a bike for past 6 weeks was about 2 mins worth at Rollapaluza.

I might do the same route (including extra 30 to 40 miles if starting/finishing central London) in the summer if I get round to putting some miles in my legs in the interim. Probably on gears mind...

  • i'll come. as long as you don't destroy me with sudden changes of pace. or any pace, for that matter.

i was drawn to the route, it's some of my favourite out-of-london cycling territory.

  • There might be a sudden change of pace from slow to dead fucking slow.

Haven't done 'the wall' before, but the contour lines look exciting - and the 4 mile descent shortly after :O

  • oooh. i think i might do this ride. for sure. or do what i normally do, register, but not pay, so that if the weather decides to be brutal i can just not go.

  • I've been going a little bit nuts trying to sort out sportive entries - what I can and can't do, etc.
There are six Reliability rides on and all but one have rideable starts from Ealing (32k away, I don't think I'm up for the Luton one as it's 60k away start)

I was messing here to show the Willesden club about Google calendar publishing.. I added the 6 Reliability rides..

I'm still unsure about the Wessex Tour, illy how are you getting down there and where are you staying? You don't have rellies down there or something do ya?

As for the Ashdown sportive, the Harp Hilly 100 is on the same day (first Reliability ride) and it's only 32k away from me so I'd rather do it. Plus it has nothing in it called THE WALL! :)

Unfortunately the White Horse Challenge has sold out.

Train costs and logistics around getting you and bike to these places are trickier than the riding! :S

  • You doing the full version? That's a lot cheaper than I imagined it would be for a full package.. tempting. Getting kinda close to my L2P though.

  • Could be up for the Ashdown ride, but really depends on how I get on with riding through January, like BMMF I've ridden bugger all apart from the Rollapaluza for the past 4-5 weeks. And I wasn't very fit before that anyway!

Have entered and received confirmation for the Kent Cyclosportive. Expensive to enter (£30), but it's all for some great local charities, the main two of which are very close to my heart.

    Bikely'ed route:

Great for fixies apart from the opening descent and subsequent finish!
