I'm not really bothered with the choice either way. Basically if a bike I get has existing 1/8th parts, I will add 1/8th bits and same with 3/32.
The only full fixed driveline I've done was using a Miche track groupset which was 1/8th. I'd just have readily used 3/32 - if they made it.
