  • Nice looking bit of kit. So where's the Chevy?

  • lets try it again...

Hi, im Maxwell, and a student at Swansea University. Im originally from Albuquerque, NM where i was a mechanic at two bike shops. I am a trials rider at heart, but on exchange for school/photography. This fixie makes for a great way to commute and cross train. Its growing on me more and more each day. The frame was salvaged from a metal recyling plant, and all the other parts were sourced from another local shop in Swansea. Built up with good parts and cost nearly nothing. Bought the wheels and thats about it.

    heres a small breakdown...

52.5cm Road frame. Had a 531 Reynolds sticker on it. Shit paint, so started to grind off, figured i would leave it looking ratty so no one nicks it! Tight but faily relaxed geometry. Matching fork.
Old school track drops and Stem
    Campagnolo Chorus Headset.
    Campagnolo Veloce BB
    Shimano 600 Cranks, 165mm.
    Campagnolo 42t chainring
Mavic Open Pro rims, DB spokes, Campagnolo Road front, Ambrosia rear. 15t Dura ace cog/ring
Brooks Saddle (worn in SO well)
Shimano 105 track pedals (switched out the MKS)
    Front fender for style:)

    Fixie back home

    dated.

    That's me.

    loves it

    again

    first ride

  • Turd Fergurson looks really strange but its really comfortable to ride!

yeah i was surprised it feels great to ride
    and look v good

  • I wish my legs were long enough to ride it...

  • A/S/L???

  • CHUG_IT A/S/L???

ah, this is the bike i keep getting confused with muna's!?!

  • Not at all finished (pedals etc) and horrible light, but a new frame.

    And me, in the middle.

  • umm that's nice......details please!

  • "red battle tartan of the MacMillan clan patterned button up, collared shirt"

  • as you can see by the photo im not the only one interested in the shirt

  • Sorry for lack of details. Its an unknown frame, but perhaps a 70's Roberts 57cm, Campagnolo dropouts. Miche cranks, Ambrosio bars, Cinelli stem. 42:14. Unfinished as yet, waiting for a few bits to come in the post... I was wondering about perhaps a chromed seatpost? I can't decide if I like it black, anyone think it would look better? (so vain, I know)

The shirt is one my friend gave me a few months ago. It's a beautiful red with delicate yellow and black stripes. I had to cut the hole on the top button hole a little bit so that I could do it up and it would fit around my neck. The checks are nicely lined up with the pocket on the shirt. I like that about it.

  • Maxwell Duryea lets try it again...

yeh i'm loving that. wicked mudguard too (fender) and the drops, what did you do with those oh so pretty drops?

  • hahaha. ya its ugly as shit, but its because at my UNI, Swansea, people are cunts. and tend to kick in a bike left outside that are newish looking. Like all those overly priced mtn. bikes from China...and so, to avoid that, i decided to make it as ugly as possible, not caring about what it looks like. I started grinding off a few layers of the paint (its been respayed atleast three times) and then got down to the original white, and was like, "hmmm, its back to normal, leave it." It rides like a dream, and i got it all pretty much free. The drops are nice. i Keep finding sets, haha, and i cant wait to bring em back home. I have a few bikes in need of proper parts. I have four sets of bar/stem combos at the moment...and more to come. found a set of 1940's track drops and stem. steel and heavy as hell, but cool as crap. The bike has been more than good to me. I ride it into town atleast twice a day, and go for rides along the coast almost every morning at 7am to watch the sunrise. i love it. ill strip it and repaint/clean up and sell before i move back home in July, or i might send it home. im not sure. thanks guys, i thought i was the only one that liked it!

  • Jake

did you happen to buy this last week?! if so the previous owner, prior to respray is on here ;)

  • Yeah, I saw in the ebay thread about someone who had it when it was pink. I bought it last week from Build (on here), needed a new frame after the last died.
