It is the gang mentality of track bikes in London that is the most concerning thing. My Peugeot was forced to lock itself outside a police station in East London, during the summer, for fear of further racist/fixist attacks. Taunts like "fnck off froggy", and "if we see you around here without gears, we'll break your spokes" have left the Pug in fear for it's safety.
Some so-called 'cyclists' have been found to harbour not only track frames, but also road conversions in the same house!, forcing the RC out in the sh!t weather, and leaving them in some of the dodgier parts of the city, all the while saving the track frames for the better weather and recreational rides.
Thank god for all of the fair-weather track bikes' fear of the cold/salt/rain, otherwise my Peugeot may well become redundant.
