asm, your friend came round this morning and took that bike away.
Should be right, just needs some oil on the chain and either oiling or replacement of the rear brake cable.
Glad they got away before this horrid rain started. -

Those after cheap cycles can also try the freecycle list (Hackney and London), lots of "wanted" emails but a few bikes do crop up as freebies.
There's a rusting neglected ladies dawes near me (E9), no way am I about to cut the lock but I can put a sign on with yr contact details if anyone else is after such a thing.
Whisper if so.
PS: Judging by age (recent) doubt it has horizontal dropouts...
