I had exactly the same problem. Ended up switching to clips&straps, which means I can skid now but they're nowhere near as comfy. I'd switch to ATACs but it would mean either buying another pair of shoes or switching the spds on the race bike too :([/quote]

i was doing that alot as well, i think it may be because the cleats at a bit of an angle - i've managed to avoid it by tightening all the way and being very careful to keep my heel in when skidding... learnt it the hard way though...
