Anyone know who makes this brake lever?

  • If you don't find an answer, don't be surprised if it is not homemade - I have made a few brake lever and gear shifters over the years and they always look similar to the above - no branding - no colour finishing - always alloy.

  • where is the pic?

  • fyxomatosis is down again.

  • it looks like an Acor lever that has been stripped, but i think those are anodised. maybe they started making them in silver? definitely the same template as Acor though.

  • That's the fella.

  • I've read that somebody dipped theirs in oven cleaner to strip the paint.

  • Blimey that looks really nice NON-black - I want one

  • xroads I've read that somebody dipped theirs in oven cleaner to strip the paint.

Paint will come off with Nitromors, but I think these kinds of things are usually hard anodised.

If you want to remove the anodising, use an oven cleaner with Sodium Hydroxide - 'Kleen Off™' is good so is 'Easy Off™', but stuff like 'Mr Muscle™' has not got the magic ingredient - so watch what you buy/waste your money on.

  • Cheers for the help guys. I work at an Art college so I will prob sandblast the surface.

edit: just find them in silver. Job done

    Brake link

  • not bad. I might have to get some of these.
