  • SimonC Really nippy this morning, but I'm getting narked off with the Jekyll and Hyde nature of my commute - cold down Hammersmith Road, through Kensington and Hyde Park. Then the urban heat island kicks in at Grosvenor Square and I start overheating....

    Word to that. On the BBC they had the expected difference in temp between areas

    Country side -4 to -5 deg C
    Small towns -4 to -3 deg C
    Suburbs -3 to -2 deg C
    Central London -1 to 0 deg C

    So up to a five deg C difference, I always expect center of town to be a few deg warmer but up to 5 is massive. Shows how much in efficient heating goes on.
