jv she's nearly built now, just waiting to borrow thebricks bb tool (cheers mate). couple of issues though, i have the shimano 600 stem with the hidden bolts and the plastic cap - cant seem to get it tight enough, any ideas?
What bars are you using? They might be 25.4 whereas the stem is probably 26mm.
also got a lovely light rolls saddle, anyone know what i can put on it to protect it from denim transfer? as a reformed sneaker head i should know this
Is it white? There's not much you can do to stop denim transfer that I know of. Suppose there could be a spray or something, but I doubt it will stand up to saddle friction, rain, sweat etc. Maybe just wear lycra or chinos?

Hey jv, If you buy one can you order that top-left one for me and get seller to combine postage? I will obviously reimburse you - do you need a matching pink bottle cage? ;-)

yeah might try some of that spray stuff on the saddle cheers. dont really want to put a cover on it.
should of been clearer the stem is loose in the tube, not the bars. if i hold the front wheel between my feet and twist the bars firmly the stem moves round - not cool

Not cool indeed - can't think why that would be (unless Shimano made french size stems which seems unlikely. You could check with calipers and it should be 22.2mm). You tried tightening it a bit more :)

its got 22.2mm on it, 25.4 clamp. maybe i am being weedy, i'll give it another shot tonight thanks
Protect your saddle? 80s vintage? Check out these retro Selle Italia / Iscaselle lycra covers..
Obviously the pink one is PERFECT - but the first / last one are so kitsch I think I want one?! I am a child of the 80s though..
