Thanks to MA3K (has she contacted you yet?) Will be winging your way soon with a hipflask (or maybe bottle) of spirit/liquor of your choice. Oh, and another bike in need of a headset pressed & steerer cut down (mine this time :), if that's ok? Maybe mon/tues/wed of next week.
Mr. Bungles, what you say is widely true, but if you were a 19 y/o girl with little/no experience riding a bike in traffic (but keen on learning), with an exceptionally limited budget (being an art student and all), a stolen bike is a very tempting solution. One that is wrong (which is why i went to such efforts to find her a legit one for a similar price) mind! You're right, before you become a cyclist you have no idea how much a bike costs, and you definitely don't even consider the fact that i might not fit you like a glove... but £150? I got an old raleigh road bike that served me very well indeed for £80 last year. £150 is a pretty large sum to spend for a student when they aren't sure if they'll actually be riding it in a month's time!
....Oh and don't worry i'll be escorting her until she finds her feet, so to speak!
