The Turkish baker at the end of the main drag is very good. And there's a great curry house called the Bengal, under the bridge at St. James.
Those two things excepting, it's unremittingly awful.

Your coffee is pretty good. But I don't think you'd be able to answer my questions :(
jonny - yeah the village is a bit crap tbh. Its like 8 shops. 1 of which sells really bad coffee.
Billa - now thats an idea.

Peter's Savoury products factory. nice. was one of those in caerphilly when I frequented there. Scar your lung tissue with just the smell alone. avoid at all costs. oh yeah, and don't try eating anything by peter, you'll end up with a rally bad headache for days...

the corner of blackhorse road and wherver else is great if you fancy being assraped or murdered, or both. i can also recommend the cycle track that goes round the back of the housing estate towards the north circular, it goes though lakes of toxic waste and piles of glass and the local yout hang out in large, amorphous blobs.
having said that, bark studios is on the corner of hoe lane, where they recorded my bloody valentine early stuff and loaded, by primal scream. and some shit bands i used to be in years ago.

The dogs has gone? Shame.
There's the guy who makes neon lights. Crazy. Done neon for tons of major hollywood films, gets shipped all over the world to make neon. Rented a pink neon flamingo from him one time, for a party. Showed us round his workshop, talked about neon for hours. Awesome. That's what Walthamstow has. Mr Neon.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=E17+9LP&spn=0.005,0.02&hl=enis pleasant enough. not partic. exciting though. there's a cafe and some restaurants and two decent pubs.
you can pootle about the marshes quite nicely during daylight, though i wouldn't get lost out there after dark - you'll cycle into a canal!

I've gotta hang out there for the next few weeks as part of a study I'm doing. Anyone here live there? It seems pretty depressing, is there anything good there? Somewhere to get a nice coffee? Anywhere nice to ride? Anything?!
