Oh yes, the "brakeless guy". Basically i met Paul thru eBay, funny thing i actually sold him a helmet.
He sent me an e-mail a few days ago with a picture of his new fixie and wondering what's up, and i told him about the ride.
He built up the bike like a couple of days before the ride and couldn't change the gears (50x14) - he said he went to Brixton Cycles to buy other sprockets but they didn't have it at the moment.
I told him to go with his Dolan road bike, but guess what, he did show up at the Hyde Park... with the fixie!
Think what happened was: he built up the bike, rode around the block with no brakes, thought it was allright and that he could make it to Brighton. I remember when we started the ride i tried to convince him to don't go and asked if he could skid with his bike.
Anyway... he is fine now, and oh the bike as well - he said just the saddle is a bit scratched :)
