look up the Portland Cyclewear 3/4 messenger pant.
Longer than the Rapha 3/4 but with the same slim styling except they have a elastic stretch in thw waistband for us, um, non-whippet types.
$75, $12 postage and £11 tax (bastads)
Wore them to Brighton - good showerproof features and dried very quickly (except for the padded insert, but that's my fault for not having a mudguard) Just as comfortable as my Rapha pants.
the material of the Rapha pants looks better IMHO. I was wearing them when I fell over a couple of weeks ago, I grazed my knee through the shorts, but there are no marks on the material to show it went through a slide.
