At the time, it was the cheapest alu road/track frame I could find (I had wheels and stuff already), plus it was my lbs. I got a reasonable deal at £300 for frame+forks+headset. And the 'rubberized' matt black paint job looked like it would last.
Times have changed a bit since then though...
