Two bikes - one person

Ask someone at the bus stop / tube station in New Cross if they want a free ride up West and then hand them the shopper! Follow the rider and then get your bike back at the destination - wallop!

This topic has just become quite relevant for me - a colleague has left a 1999ish Kona Koa in our head office car park for ONE YEAR because someone kicked in the wheels. He has figured out my bike geekiness and I'm gonna go rescue it on Saturday. I figure that a freebie should reduce the average price I've spent on bikes this year ;-)
So: Strap wheels to bag, frame over the shoulder? it's 10 miles from Surbiton to Sheperds Bush - am I mad?
Should I just leave the wheels / get the train?

I like to annoy Tube users by wiping my bike's grease on them.

remove wheels, push seat post in, attach bike to backpack with zip ties, then attach wheels to bike. easy. i've carried 4 wheels on my back pack and several frames on other occasions

Make sure you've got a good backpack!
