weird mine are still fine after worlds...wasnt racing though...but was rainy enough...anyway this is new batch...was your flatmate Jon the Yellow/blue merlin - little john???? if yes he got a new pair..........and there may be an issue of how they were installed in the pedals/clips.......friend of mine got a pair as well and installed them the wrong way around which may result in the seal at the end breaking and the threads start to come out of straps........anyway you are getting new ones if there is a manufacturer's defect in them:-)
