Typically, it's poorly researched though....I thought it was Ross of Brixton cycles (amongst others) who kick-started the urban hard-court polo scene in London at least two years ago....
Indeed, Ross, Keith, and some other realengers used to play somewhere south of the river... I don't know if theirs was that close to the NYC version we play now (mostly fixed gear, mallet tossing, foot down etc...)
