Moving to NYC

Hey guys,

just trying to fish out some info about NYC shops for fixies... I've been in london for almost 10 years now and i'm moving to NYC in the new year, so will have to sell my bike and a lot of other random bits since it wont ship too easily.
are any of you from the big apple? I need some tips to get myself a new fixie over there :) Any help appreciated!

there's a yank working at condor called sam, i think it was, hails from nyc and will be able to fill you in on some shops there. he was quite helpful to me a week or two ago and said he used to manage a bike shop on upper east side. i checked out the website and it looked reasonable - they had a decent section about fixies - but i can't remember the address (real or web) right now.

There's a store in Williamsburg of FGSS compatibility... but they've broken the golden rule and have a sign saying "We don't lend out tools" or similar.
