  • don't know if they were specifically invited, but the tournament was open to all

  • I don't know much about them, but they exist and are no doubt the longest running or continuous bike polo club or summink! think they are attached to the Hurlingham "actual" Polo club / association....i'm sure they're approachable...I know they've played at Herne Hill.....possibly a good contact for gear.....also, I just found genuine bicycle polo mallets online for 9quid each new!

  • got link?

  • er yeah, just spotted postage is a killer...who's that riding the bike??? think I recognise him.

foot mallets look like they could be used too....plus they are available in different lengths.

  • went past that lit up court with rubberised surface in swiss cottage during the halloween ride last night. looks OK, but as mentioned not sure on how the surface would cope with the skidding etc

  • the normal polo mallet have a tiny end surface area which makes it hard to hit the balls we use. easier for dribbling, harder for smacking!

  • they have a much better angle for wacking the ball sideways on (a much greater surface area than either of the above techniques)...this can't be properly done with a mallet with a right-angled head....these are similar to the now deteriorating mallets at HH.

  • yeah, but you can't shuffle to score a goal ;)

  • can't argue with that as I don't know what you mean!...think I'll get one...in the long term hope of getting the HH bikes rolling again.

  • scott not scot nice lil mallet from BMW....with built in sparks....:)

    only $400 :0

  • winston can't argue with that as I don't know what you mean!...think I'll get one...in the long term hope of getting the HH bikes rolling again.
you can't score a goal with the side of the mallet, only the end ;)

  • Winston - yeah i invited the Chelsea Pedallers, I had a bit of contact with them but then they stopped replying to my emails. Might try again sometime

  • runcible rakan I had a bit of contact with them but then they stopped replying to my emails.

    or in your case neither!

  • well, you gotta be on the pitch to score the goals right?

but seriously is that side mallet = no goal a rule or an opinion?

a Brooklyn Machine Works creation made from Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethelene, self-lubricating delrin, and magnesium chunks for effect.

thats one of the greatest things ever!!
