I'm always looking out for this happening as the same thing happened to me last year. The bus (long bendy), was nowhere near the stop and hadn't even began to pull over. Tons of room on the inside so I cut through and this guy steps off into my path. I headbutted the side of his head so hard we were both in pain. I was angry but felt sorry for him too. The driver then continued, passed the stop, and kept going. I ended up walking to calm down.
I have since expected it to happen at times...and it has! I give the driver a warning everytime and have since started banging on the side of the bus when I'm passing on the inside. I feel the driver should be reported in order to raise the issue for future bus training. Two people could have been seriously injured.
Then there's the incident of people opening their car doors without looking! Makes me soooo mad!
There's got to be cycle friendly rules and regulations given on all driving tests.
