  • you know that gold bmx, well its owned by the guy who started the gumball races, the same guy in the first picture of the cars thread started by yorgo.

  • i read that in some article somewhere, cant remeber

  • bling on bay...

    berlinggg

  • If you are looking for GOLD I have a pile of NITTO gold that didn't get used, whisper me

  • i'm assuming that these bikes/bits aren't made out of solid gold and are not merely painted gold, so doesn't that leave gold-plating as being the only other options? and isn't gold plating an already steel or aluminum bike/bit going to make it heavy as fuck?

  • they are anodized

  • Oh my god i bet the owner of those parts is japanese... or from the States :)

  • kilgore_trout i'm assuming that these bikes/bits aren't made out of solid gold and are not merely painted gold, so doesn't that leave gold-plating as being the only other options? and isn't gold plating an already steel or aluminum bike/bit going to make it heavy as fuck?

people who own such things don't actually use them, they just look at them till they go blind, innit? :)

  • i dunno kilgore, gold plating tends to be of the order of 10^-6m. OK, add the copper/nickel for triple plating and you might get an extra 50g, which isn't a lot really.
Also, i'm not sure, but i don't think you can gold-plate aluminium (at least not cost-effectively).

  • niiiiiiiiice

  • bwoyzzzz, stylin the gold grille

  • he knows what time it is...

  • SMEEAR that was at the bff art show on the opening night!!!, the same i swear

Not the original, maybe the replica...

He had the orignal robbed from the back of a van when on tour, got the frame and a few bits back a few years later - think it sits in his loft now. if you get the joe kid on a stingray dvd, there's a bit on there where he tells the whole story
