hi guys so i bought this frame to build a bike, what does everyone think about spraying it or should i leave it as it is?
also because its me first racer since i was a teen im looking help on what i should put on it?
    thanks

  • i like the colour of it! but it all depends on what kind of image your going for with the bike.....and your budget.

  • wrong forum?

i think you should spray. the colour is seriously vile.

  • errr? what do you mean wrong forum??

  • at first i thought it looked suspiciously like it might be a geared build.

    but might not, hence 'er...'

following a close look i can see that there are hoz drops.

    and 'tis a nice frame.

  • yeah i did think that at first look.....

  • if i were to spray it were could i get the transfers

  • i would be surprised if you could....but i maybe wrong.

  • don't spray it.
because its such a uniquely disgusting scheme.
I really like it- its kinda like the right kind of fugly.

  • it does look like the right kind of ugly. it'll be very unique.

but if you want decals, check these guys out:

to be honest i;ve never used them but have saved the links just in case. also, a resprayer might have some...

ditto. super-garish, but nicely done. plus you'll be really visible during the dark winter months. respray it later, when you're sick of looking at it.

  • The colour scheme is that of the ADR team that Greg LeMond rode for when he won the Tour in 89. LeMond actually rode a TVT carbon painted up as a purple/yellow Bottecchia most of the time. This looks to be their budget team replica as it's made of Columbus Aelle tubing.

  • if you live in shoreditch how dare you even think of repainting it! and when lemond(thank you wisey) won the tour that year on the last day in the time trial agsinst fignon well i've still got that on video i'm not a sporting person really hate football, rugby an all that shit but that was on the edge of the seat stuff and i went straight out on my road bike in wales and did a quick lap of the valleys.

  • Happily, that tour winning TT bike was painted in the traditional Bottecchia colours of red/white rather than the team colours. Sadly, Greg had it repainted the following year when he rode for Z. So it ended up being just as ugly in the Z team colours of sky blue/fluro yellow/red. Paint it fire engine red, with white seat stays & chain stays, white fork, & white head tube in between the lugs. Nice set of white decals to finish off. That's what it deserves, even if it is only Aelle.

  • ;o)

  • leave her be
