I do but I know there's loads of people that would rather pay £4+ for a tube than 25p for a patch. Fools!

Someone in evans the other night paid £17.50 to have their puncture fixed for them. The tools were offered and a patch for next to nothing but the guy said he couldn't be bothered.
Is there a market there, fixing lazy peoples punctures, because it would be seriously easy money if a little dull.

You forget what some people earn.. their time might be better spent doing something else.
Like they reckon it's more cost effective for Bill Gates to buy a car and drive off than wait 10min for a cab or some such randomness.
If fixing the puncture takes him 20min and he's earning £100/hr.. -

Fnck it, £20 a go then.

so i bought a frame on ebay, the guy lives in germany and wants me to pay into his account i told him there is no way im doing this as i have no assurance i will get the frame.
He said he doesn't do paypal
any other ways i can sort this out he doesnt speak very good english -
• #1265
this is the way we do it in aus, never got jibbed.
-
• #1266
^^ Paypal is not commonly used - German sellers very often only accept bank transfers so don't assume he's dodgy straight away! There will be a charge though, I think around £20.
Try communicating with a combination of translated German text and English - it shows that at least you have made an effort! (babelfish.com).
Perhaps suggest that you transfer a deposit and the balance once it arrives and you are happy?
Check their feedback and decide if its worth the risk. -
• #1267
If you transfer the money from your bank to his your likely to pay a fee approx £14 but it will be shown on your statements so could be used i guess as evidence worst case senario. Though it will only show amount paid into bank and not what it is for. You'll need yours and his IBAN number to do it ask your bank and they'll give it to you.
Whats his feedback like? -

onemagicru-
Why is ihe taking photos in the dark? -
• #1273
Onemagicru - I'd be tempted to steer clear of that M-Trax frame if the price goes up much beyond where it is now. For a couple of reasons...
For starters, those M-Trax/ Dynatech bonded tubes were known for unexpectedly un-bonding.
Also, eyebrows, there is a good chance that this dude is taking photos in the dark to mask a serious defect or overall crappy state of the frame...I bought a frame from this seller a few months ago and it was utterly misdescribed; seat post and BB were totally siezed (even though he claimed to have run a bike shop - not details that anyonw who knows bikes woudl neglect to mention). When I contacted him to sort it out he sent me a series of the most crazed, stream of consciousness rants about his wife's eating disorder and how his neighbours were persecuting him for being a Xenophobe...seriously! A certifiable nut job! I put it down to experience and have kept the frame as a back-up...but once bitten and all that!

i was suggesting that it was a bit dodge, with the pics in the dark and all.

Having said that, the old bonded carbon Giant Cadex frames are STILL kicking around Oz..
It's also road spaced so depends on what you wanna do with it.
And all the photos are in the dark = blurgh
