They're very pretty, although I actually prefer the look of a classical 5 arm spider.

whose evers bike that campy crank is attached to should check out the links on the chain i think you might have a few tight links probably noisey chain action
wiggle 'em back and forth to release the pressure -

dicki: That's mine and it's the pic from ebay before I'd taken ownership of the bike.
Chain was sorted soon after collection. Well spotted though dude! Eagle Eye Dicki! :) -

Jon,
I haven't heard from you over the last couple of days.
Can you get in touch with me by midday Monday please. If not, I'll offer the chainset to Hippy.
-
• #33
Or me! If hippy doesn't want it. :)
I'd take it with the 42t chainring :)
Oh er, behind everyone else as well though! Looks like i was a LITTLE late for this one. haha
-
• #34
No, I still want them.. hands off!
Clocks tickin' Jon! ;-) -
• #35
d'oh... Meh i have (half) a campag crank already. I dont need it!
(Isn't bitter. At all.)
Edit: actually, will the chainrings fit a campag crank? Oh wait.. hippy are you taking all of them as well?

Jon's got dibs.. through some whispered voodoo.. but if he's not interested I'll take the lot.
Shimano 130bcd, Campag 135bcd I think. Too many numbers for my feeble brain to recall though.. -
• #37
yeah I can't get my head round chainrings/bbs etc... this is going to be my least favourite part of the assembling process...
-
• #38
Shimano are 130BCD, Campag are 135 or 144 depending on vintage...

Thanks for picking the cranks up Jon.
If anyone is after another set of cranks, I have a fairly tatty Shimano crank with (again) a couple of chainrings and no chainring bolts.
I'll sort out some photos in a day or so.
Will come with the mythical 45/46t (when I can find it and find out what it actually is!) or 50t
£15 should do it, or £20 with both rings. If anyone's interested let me know and I'll clean everything up and take pics. If not, it can lie unloved in the bottom of my bits box.

jon: if you've whispered i'm gonna be unhappy..
-
• #43

Ok, I'll go and dig.
Found the chainring and it's a 45t.
Now where the hell did I put those cranks. It's a pair by the way, 170mm.
They're not pretty now, but they'll polish up all right, I've seen another pair given the treatment with a polishing mop and they looked sweet. -
• #46
I don't want them to look nice.. I want them to look shit.. they're for my Armstrong beater build. :)
-
• #47
