  • deadroxy hmm... sounds a bit too complicated then for me. i want something i can ride -soon- without an insane amount of work. i'm still new to building things up so i don't want to start a project that will put me in over my head. maybe i'll go and have a look at somethings already built up as mentioned. any other strong recommendations for frames i should keep an eye out for on ebay/gumtree?

'm the same size as you and I ride a junior racer Raleigh that I bought off eBay for £40 (since spent about 4 times that on it). I find the best things to search for are 'boys racer' or 'junior racing' or variations on that. Mine was a '5 speed' that I stripped down - its certainly very hard to find any track frames (aside from NJS) that small so I generally look out for conversions.

The best track frame I've found that fits dinky people like us is a junior 650c pista from Harry Havnoonian at http://www.hhracinggroup.com (its not on their site but they definitely still do them - drop him an email). Although they're in the States, you can get frame and forks for US$710, which they can also drill for a front brake. With shipping, would probably end up around £400-£500 but you'd have to build the rest up yourself. If I had the money it'd be my next project for sure
