hipster, i have the Park tool you require. shame i didn't read the thread before going to catford yesterday. can get them to you somehow if you are still itching to get the World Championship machine back on the road.

jackcade Use pliars only if you want to be driven insane wih rage and frustration.The trouble is that pliars will cut the cable but in doing so they have to exert lots of pressure because they aren't proper hardened steel and they're not sharp enough.You end up with a cable end that looks ok,ie unfrayed,but the pressure exerted has fucked the integrity of the cable and when you try to thread it strands start to come loose.Cue,rage and frustration.really,there's no substitute for a pair of proper Park cable cutters.

A tiny amount of solder solves that though. Depends how cheap you are and what your toolbox already holds I suppose.

bought a pair of icetools ones from... EVANS. stopped cutting clean after using it for about 10 times. what crap.

Best thing have ever used was an Anvil + cold chisel + lump hammer. Quick, clean cuts.

Not very protable though.

I just don't have a well-equipped flat! No wonder I'm so angry.. man can't live without shed + tools for too long..

There's nothing wrong with the cables (except that they're old and fscked) and if I got new cables I'd have to cut them down anyway wouldn't I?

In defence of Mike Dyason, they may not say Park on them, but they're bloody good tools for the money.
Everyone should go to his website just to buy his pack of 100 spare patches for skinny tubes, the cable cutters and the double ended 5/6mm allen key. Some of the best buys I've made in the last few years.

I'd sorted out a set from jonny but if he doesn't get too upset with the rejection and I can get 'em off you tomorrow.. it would save him a trip in to the city. Sweet!

I just put em in my work bag. Drop me a line tomorrow...assuming no one gets upset ;-) btw...they aren't Park tools but some from On-one and are sharp and decent.
