mate as said above have bought an old raleigh.
my max is roughly not much more than it is currently. i prob should stand by and wait- am waiting on an orange hue holdsworth. -
• #1208
ibob That holdsworth looks sweet.
Also, is 75 quid BIN cheap for a Bob Jackson? bob jackson
yeah - but i guess the catch is the seller won't post and he's based somewhere in nottinghamshire (as far as i can make out using google maps) - which is quite a mission to get to.

Is that bob jackson good value for money? does anyone know what the tubing the frame has? Thanks
-
• #1210
cheers mate, we'll see how we go, I'm not sure what my max is yet...
-
• #1211
also how much is this sort of thing worth...http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=190164177250&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:PIC&ih=009. I am looking to get an old frame/bike preferably made from some goodish light tubing and am unsure what these old frames are worth, thanks!

tomo: I asked the seller about tubing and dropouts just after posting it here, but he hasn't got back to me. It's probably a bit of a punt based on that blurry photo...
-
• #1213
tomo, have a look at the list i put up- their all suitable

The Dawes is 531st tubing which is touring strength.
A little beefier than 531c which is the full racing standard.
Should still be relatively light.chris

well, on the Holdsworth, I figured my max was 200, went up to 220, got outbid with 1sec to go...
Regretting not going higher already, but it's prob for the best... Mental note: don't go near ebay, temptation lurks... -

Mental note: don't go near ebay, temptation lurks...haha, have been burned like that myself already tonight, i think your advice is very wise... but for those who are foolish enough, i discovered what it is that makes people place last second bids with such amazing 10-second accuracy: hammersnipe (i'm sure there are a million equivelants - and sorry if i'm preaching to the converted).

the bob jackson guy "reckons it is 531 tubes", wasn't sure what I meant by drop-outs, sent him a link to sheldon.
