Building a new bike from British made components, how far could you go?

Frame and saddle no problem, hubs and BB from Royce but then what?

With all the UK light engineering design and manufacturing talent are there any rogue Cosworth engineers knocking out headsets after hours? Aluminium window frame extruders pushing rims on the side?

every headset manufacturer has to license the design from cane creek (not for threaded ones) hope make their stuff in the u.k.

tires are almost impossible to get american or european. everything else is metal and can be taken from these places, i don't think there are any rubber trees in america or europe.

Sturmey-Archer (hubs, hub-brakes, internal hub-gears)

So technically, except for rims, tyres, spokes, and pedals, the rest of a bike build could be British? AND I think its possible to get a single gear version of a Sturmey hub, though it may be a mod, as opposed to being factory made.

Isn't Sturmey-Archer stuff made in Taiwan these days ?

Actually, this sounds like a good challenge. I've got an ss off-the-pegger, but for my first build (when I can afford it), I might just try to use as many british made (or owned by a british-based company) parts as possible. It might ended up as a geared bike, or maybe ss, depending on how I feel at the time.
